Our Mission

Located in the Allegheny Mountains close to the established resorts of The Homestead, Snowshoe and the Greenbrier, we offer a customizable outdoor education program for middle school classes.  Our residential programs are designed around the guiding principles of STEM education.  Lessons within our curriculum will be customized to best fit the needs and outcomes of your group.

Being away from the typical classroom and distractions, replacing it with nature’s classroom for a few days, provides unrivaled opportunities for your students to gain a true appreciation for the natural and breathtaking environment around them.  To be truly immersed in nature allows students the chance to touch, feel and experience in a way that many do not get the chance to do so in their everyday surroundings.

“As a child, one has that magical capacity to move among the many eras of the earth; to see the land as an animal does; to experience the sky from the perspective of a flower or a bee; to feel the earth quiver and breathe beneath us; to know a hundred different smells of mud and listen unselfconsciously to the soughing of the trees.”
— Valerie Andrews

Our resident counselor staff provide both supervision and instruction during the typical day, allowing teachers to relax, observe and engage with their students in educational activities. Our instructors have bachelor's degrees and possess a variety of science and teaching credentials.
